Thank you for your interest, the main article is about Isidore Bonheur, the brother of Rosa. It’s the reason why you may find a lot “him” in the translation of the article. Maybe the translation is not correct but in French there is no mistakes.

It takes me away from the content. For example the author refers to Rosa Bonheur with the male pronoun “him.” While admittedly she challenged gender norms, Bonheur none-the-less identified as a woman. There is also a lot of shifting of verb tense from past to present and some awkward in English, but okay in French, grammar construction of sentences and phrases.
